ABOUT US
HOW IT ALL STARTED
On Friday 13th May 2022, the founder of Legacy was facing the first night of his first prison sentence.
He was “padded up” with a lifer who had been recalled to prison despite not committing a crime.
Over the subsequent three weeks, whilst being banged up in their cell for 23 hours a day, the seed of Legacy was planted.
Over the course of the next two years the seed was watered, nurtured and came to fruition when the two were reunited at HMP Standford Hill.
They would then meet two further co-founders who would allow Legacy to find its roots and branch out.
OUR CORNERSTONES

AARON
The Co-Founder of HMS Legacy has fifteen years' experience of the construction industry. He uses this to forge, build and maintain client relationships to secure training and career opportunities for our candidates.
At 14, Aaron tragically lost both his older brother and father, in a three-month period. This left him as sole care provider for his disabled mother; a responsibility that continues now. After making bad life choices he became involved in the supply of drugs and received 8 years. During his sentence Aaron helped others as an ‘Insider’ (which is when he first ‘worked’ with John Paul). When transferred to Open Conditions he took on the position of Lead Carpenter at the Prison woodwork shop and trained other inmates to a level where they could secure meaningful employment.

JOHN PAUL
With over a decade of recruitment experience JP uses his skills to win clients and place people with convictions into meaningful employment.
JP was a Criminal Defence lawyer in his 20’s and pivoted into the Recruitment Industry in his 30’s. He honed his communication, negotiation and presentation skills providing award winning staffing solutions to global blue-chip corporations. Despite professional success, his mental and physical state declined through the progressive condition of addiction.
During his incarceration, he made a stand against his addiction; attending recovery groups and courses. He invested in himself emotionally, spiritually and physically. John helped others in prison; particularly those struggling with alcoholism and addiction and continues to do so following his release. John provides his time to HMS Legacy voluntarily.
